Kaimira Estate Winery is situated on the banks of the Wairoa river near Brightwater, in the Nelson province at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. The Winery and associated vineyards are owned and operated by Ian Miller and June Hamilton. The Winery came into production with the 1999 vintage. The aim is to make high quality and affordable wines for the discerning consumer. All the grapes are hand picked. The emphasis they place on promoting the primary flavours of each variety means that most of our white wines are made and stored in stainless steel tanks. With some chardonnays however, they do appreciate the extra dimension that comes from the use of fine French oak and ferment and mature these wines in a mix of new and seasoned French barriques.
