Lying in the sun amidst the citrus- covered slopes of Northland is Marsden Estate, Kerikeris award winning winery. The estate is name after Samuel Marsden, who introduced the grapevine to New Zealand with 100 plantings at Kerikeri in 1819. The plantings at Marsden are a little more recent, but both the wine and estate building have a timeless quality. Marsden Estates vineyards, with 10 acres of vines, were planted in 1993 and comprise Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin. Six other small vineyards in the area also supply fruit to the winery, helping compliment our range with Syrah and Cabernet Franc.
